Japanese Google Streetview

This is exactly how Google Streetview works! This is actually made by Google to explain the privacy concerns Japanese residents have. It’s pretty cute I must say.

Asimo rules!
The following video titled ‘Japan: Robot Nation‘ was a fascinating documentary. Even though I knew most of the situation the journalist, Adam Yamaguchi, talked about in the video, it was still great to watch it. The video covers the cause of declining birth rate in Japan and how the robots can possibly be used to help the Japanese in the future. Watch the video and share your thoughts!
Wow that’s crazy! One weird thing I thought of is how are they going to simulate blinking in a better fashion. Some of those robots blinked too often.
Good post. I love robots. I wish I could have one.
Always with the robots! LOL
The Japanese are great
wow, i am amaze…japan is always popular when it comes to robots.
Jesus christ that is freaky, but you gotta love technology
wow that robot is awesome!
The problem with robots is that there’s a fine line between “oh cool, he looks almost like a person” and “oh shi- it’s that creepy robot again!”. I don’t think robots should look like people because the more realistic they get, the more creepy the whole things becomes.
I am really glad that I found your site.. Thanks so much for the helpful information. very interesting ideas, i will look forward on it
Did you read that Obama wants to pull all the troops from Iraq in 2010?! How exactly is that going to happen? Susan1962
Cool video. Japanese are such an interesting nation!
oh.. japanese.. how could you guys being a very SMART people there?? Great!! Salute for every of your invention in Japan..
The creator that made a robot of himself creations looked very real. The voice needs some work, doesn’t sound real, but the look and blinking eyes are amazing. A very enjoyable documentary about Japan and it’s robots.
In a highly civilized society (like Japan) robots could indeed be a valuable addition to the society as a whole. Still the Japanese need to realize that no robot is going to breed for them and they need to rejuvenate their society somehow. Robots can only cure the symptoms, not the illness.
Oh, and I almost forgot: thanks for the post!
Keeping technology aside, i feel this is alarming. robots can never be human beings & hence should not be a replacement for Human beings. Considering the technology, it is great and the robots appear as if they are human beings.
That is really interesting, though I don’t think robots can ever replace people. It’s very advanced technology though.
wow, I think the future is here already.
I’m looking for some good web sites about Japanese culture including Food Religion and Clothing mainly for a paper I need to write. I’m having a hard time finding information that is a legitimate source meaning not someones high school paper or someones web site with opinions on it.
Japan = future. Great!
Thank you very much for this useful information.
Please keep on blogging.
I am looking forward to read your next great article.
Best regards…
nice to read it.
I don’t think robots are ever going to replace people. Imagine robots are doing everything; what happens to , people , jobs , wages economy?
This robot is just creepy. There’s a fine line between “oh cool it looks almost like people” and “oh god what the hell is wrong with that person?! What’s up with this blank and empty stare?!”. And Japanese unfortunately already crossed that line.
too many robots will threaten human defintely. movies said like that but I do believe robots would never dominate human, the cleverest animal on the earth.
i swear the Japanese always come up with some strange stuff. but then again the come up with some of the coolest stuff that never makes it to the US. i guess you got to take the good and the bad

Dude that is crazy, I didn’t need to see this for a few more years.
Woooa that’s impressive! I want one! Japanise are notable
… The entry flap of one booth is labeled with the kanji character pronounced ushiro (behind) and colored pink, the other is yellow and marked oppai (breast). Outside is a line of five men, each of whom is eagerly awaiting his turn to grab (with both hands) the bare buttocks and breasts of two adult video (AV) actresses five times for 1,000 yen – with all the proceeds being used for research to prevent the spread of the HIV virus and AIDS. …
(via tokyoreporter)
So…. 1000 yen is about $10. Would you spend it to help spread the word about AIDS?
What a great concept. This should help raise funds to prevent diseases
wow. :O well, it’s for a good cause…
koujis last blog post..comment spam filter haiku
I hope this is not the way to raise the funds. Preventing HIV can be done by making people aware of this disease. And letting them know about the preventive measures.
This is not at all a fare method to follow.

Is it for a good cause? Or is it an excuse to make money in the name of charity.
Does the cash actually go to prevent Aids? There are many other ways to help prevent aids.

What the hell is this. Is it a way to collect the funds? I am shocked and worried. If people all around the world doing this for a noble cause then to hell with it.
That is one awesome concept, if it works great idea!! Post back how much you make when this is over
Great article. You’ve done a good job.

I’m all in favour of raising money for good causes, and AIDS research is certainly a good cause, but I find this a bit sleazy, if you know what I mean. Having said that I marvel at the things people are prepared to do in the name of charity.
Ew. but great way to help
o.o;;;
This is not thing I would do. No shit.
I bet A LOT of girls came to grab other girls breast. xD
pervs >.>
I wondering if the wife would complain if I did this….i mean…it IS for a good cause, right?
My girlfriend would kill be for squezzing other girl’s boobs…
Do you think she would change her minde if I toled het it was for a good cause?!…
I better don’t try it
:(
The girls of the photos are very beautiful .
i guess i would spend some dollars on that charity if i got the chance.
Interesting way to raise funds, but I agree, a bit creepy.
I think the originator of the idea is trying to mitigate the sleaziness by saying, hey it’s all for charity. It’s a good cause, so maybe we should all contribute
Well, it’s certainly a more tempting opening line than most campaigns start out with. They seem to have underpriced themselves a bit though.
I am not that familiar with the whole Japanese Gravure scene. I do know couple of names such as Sola Aoi, etc..
With Japan boasting such tantalising titles as best Jeanist and Nailist, it’s perhaps not surprising then to see that online entertainment site ZAKZAK has created the Japanese Gravure Idol Award. A prize that finally gives the nation’s hard-working bikini models the recognition they so richly deserve, with the judges taking into consideration the likes of photo album sales and media exposure, along with an ample number of other assets.
(via tokyotimes)
No matter what kind of contest it is, it is got to be great to be number one, right? Here is a short video I found on youtube.
Inspiring contest
… And amazing bikinis also

That is crazy! My boyfriend and I had been just arguing about this!
“I will go to Disneyland to stab visitors to death,” the 19-year-old wrote, according to a police official in Chiba, the suburban area where the amusement park is located.
(via cnn)
He made the threat online but was caught before he had the chance to do anything. And apparently he was not the only crazy person. There was a person who slashed people on a busy street.
The message, posted on a Web site by someone using a cell phone on June 15, came a week after a man posted similar warnings before killing seven people in a downtown Tokyo knifing rampage. Authorities were also searching for a woman suspected of wounding three people in a knifing incident Sunday.
What a crazy world we live in..
Oh my….indeed…

That was a pretty cute video but it’s a good and easy to understand video about how Street View works. I must say, if I was worried about privacy, this would help me feel more at ease, knowing that I could just report a concern and it would be fixed.

Man, that camera-head guy is pretty cute. I wonder how much of the privacy work is done by computer automation and how much is done by hand.
