    Chinese Police Cell Phone

    china police cell phone

    The police are getting more high tech these days, especially in China.

    This handset will be tough as nails to cater to a police’s everyday line of work, featuring a 2.8″ display at 320 x 240 resolution, a 2-megapixel to capture incriminating evidence of a crime in progress, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity to help one while the time away on a nearby Wi-Fi hotspot when on duty, GPS navigation to know where one is headed to if he/she is a rookie in that particular area of the ‘hood and quad-band (850/900/1800/1900MHz) GSM telephony to help keep the police in question connected with the rest of the force.

      I think that that’s a good idea. Fully equipping the police. I just hope they will be able to do their job more efficiently.

      I agree with Elaphotography that it is a good idea. They need the best equipment to be able to do their job effectively.

      Wow…that thing looks like it could handle being run over by a truck. I guess if the phone is so high-tech they may as well protect it…with…thick rubber…

      It could have possessed a display with a better resolution and better camera. Otherwise it is a great device to fight against criminals.

      good idea and dangerous at the same time. now someone can hack into their system and get info on a lot of people. you can imagine what will happen if one of these phones is lost or stolen. there are a lot of smart people out there that can do scary things.

      its a good looking cellphone for police. indeed Chinese police is getting high tech by these kind of instruments. although china is an under developing country but the rate at which this country is developing is really very amazing.

      This rugged mobile looks really damn good. Even the specs are attractive… I expect some company like Nokia to make mobiles like this…

      Hi,

      The information about the mobile is good and also very interseting.

      The service supplier is the most important factor when choosing between a prepaid Telephone Surveillance and cell phone plan contract. This is an important issue because even the best phone is only as good as its signal. Buyers beware however; some service providers’ piggyback on top of more traditional lines. If it’s a case of first come; first serve and your service provider piggybacks, you could be the first one off. This results in fall calls and unreliable air space.

    Kelly Brook on a Condom Box

    kelly brook condom

    A Chinese condom company used couple of celebrity pictures on the box to promote the selling of their condoms. Celebrities include Kelly Brook, Mena Suvari, and etc… Nothing wrong with that as long as they were allowed… Apparently they were not. They would definitely be sued if they were an American company but I don’t know how it works in China. It’s a shady business practice either way.

    Get Married on 8/8/08

    chinese-wedding-cake

    The number eight is auspicious in Chinese, as it is pronounced like the word “fa”, which is part of the expression meaning “to get wealthy”.

    “Chinese people are keen to tie the knot on an auspicious date,” Xinhua news agency added. “The opening date of the Olympics adds new meaning.

    “Marriage registration offices in Beijing predict more than 9,000 couples will get married on Aug. 8 this year,” it said.

    (via independent-bangladesh)

    I don’t know about them but getting married on the day of the Olympics does not add any significance to the date. The date of 8-8-8 does sound very unique though. The date of 9-9-09 will be a hot date to get married also.

      I think 9-9-09 is better. 9 is pronounced as “jiu” which has the same pronounciation for the word “long, forever” in Chinese. So a triple 9 means “ever after”.

      What if it’s 10-10-10….it would mean perfection to the max…..but wait if you translate ten in Roman numerals…oh no it sounds really bad so I’ll go with 8-8-8 or 9-9-9…^^;

      too bad 9-9-09 is on a wednesday and 10-10-10 is on a sunday, however; 11-11-11 is on a Friday.

    Zon! by MSU Professor

    zon-chinese

    Zon is an unique interactive massively multiplayer online role playing game for learning Mandarin Chinese.

    By interacting in the Zon environment you will be exposed to Chinese language and cultural knowledge in a new and exciting way. Everything that you do in the game is another chance to learn new words, phrases and cultural info about China. Never before has learning Chinese been more fun.

    The nice part about Zon is it is all browser based. No client applications are required, so you can log in and play from school, work or home. Zon is a persistant environment, so when you log off, the world still keeps going.

    As you progress through the game, your character graduates from the tourist class, to a resident of Zon and then finally a citizen, where you can own businesses and create new content for the world.

    A fun way of learning a new language is always good. Has anyone tried this game yet?

      Oh, I love to learn new language. This seems to be a fun way to learn languages. I still remember LiveMocha which is mentioned in this blog earlier. But with such game interaction, I believe it will be more fun during the learning process. Wondering if there’s any similar game for learning the Japanese language?

      I’m a Mandarin speaker so this game should be easy for me. Guess it will be really useful for my non-Mandarin speaking boyfriend. Thanks for sharing. :)

      I have been meaning to give this a try, but totally forgot about it! Thanks for reminding me.

      @Apple
      They offer Japanese over at LiveMocha… It’s not as fun, obviously, but I prefer it over the other free sites. You might want to try out Mango Languages, but for me, it felt a little too slow and too redundant. It didn’t fly through the material fast enough, not a speedy enough immersion. Although, I can see the value of it’s teaching method for more advanced people…
