Background Story
I have been donating for the last couple of years to many different charities. That is before I started a blog. Since now I have a blog and you come back everyday(thank you.
), I thought why not try to get more donations and make it interesting too! That’s why I decided to collect donations from you (my kind and giving readers) and donate a big chunk of change to a charity. And to make things interesting to you, why not have a contest?
Charity of Choice for 2008
This year’s charity is going to be The Asia Foundation. There are couple of reasons why I chose this foundation over others. One of the reason is that this is an international Asia foundation rather than for a specific country. Even though many of you are from the US, the majority of you are not. Also after my research, The Asia Foundation received high honors from many different organizations and groups.

What is The Asia Foundation?
The Asia Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organization committed to the development of a peaceful, prosperous, just, and open Asia-Pacific region. Since 1954, the Foundation has been working on the ground, collaborating with hundreds of governmental and nongovernmental partners across Asia. In 2006, the Foundation provided more than $53 million in program support and distributed 920,000 books and educational materials valued at $30 million throughout Asia.
What types of programs does The Asia Foundation support?
Through staff expertise, cooperation with local partners, and a long history in the region, the Foundation brings distinctive insights on local issues and has successfully implemented thousands of programs that benefit current and future generations. Program areas include:
* Economic reform and development
* Law and governance reform
* Elections
* Human rights
* Women’s programs
* The environment
* International relations
* Information and communications technology
* Exchanges
The Incentive
So why should you donate? Well, you can donate couple of dollars out of your pocket to help and educate people in Asia as well as the world. However, if you need more incentive than that, here it is. I am offering 2 prizes with the sponsorship from iWeddingBand.com. On December 12, 2007 I will randomly choose 2 winners. If the total donation amount goes over $500, I will personally add new prizes to both winners.
Prize 1

How to Donate
It’s very simple. You can send me your donation via paypal to andy@zr5.net or click on the Paypal logo on the top of the sidebar.
I will make a new post every weekend and list all the people and websites that have donated.
The End
When the winners are chosen on December 12, 2007, I will announce the winners and send them an email requesting their address. Depending on when they actually get back to me, I can send out the prizes as early as the 17th. The prizes will be great Christmas gifts!

I have great respect to those people who love children and who promote adoption..I had an adopted brother but he died when he was 12 yrs. old because of leukemia..my parents gave their best and took care of him for 12 yrs. aside from taking care of us,their 9 children.But we manage to survive inspite of having a big family..So to those out there who can afford to have children,why not adopt those who are less fornunate?
