    Wondergirls New Single – Nobody

    wondergirls-nobody

Here is the new single from the Korean all female group Wondergirls. Yes, I know it’s just another catchy pop song but hey, it’s what they do best. JYP is starring as himself in this MV as well.

Wow. Another amazingly catchy song! The Wonder Girls are on a roll.
And the video actually has some storyline you can follow! JYP’s scenes are hilarious as well.
I would say it’s their best work yet! =)

There could be other advantages to such a union. The girl who marries an older man has a better chance of knowing what she is getting. In any case, the most important consideration is not age, but maturity

    Lee Hyori 3rd Album Teaser

    lee-hyori-korean

I’m pretty sure that this is done on purpose but Lee Hyori’s company is stating that someone leaked out this promotional video before the due date. They are stating that they will find out who did this and prosecute them. Whatever…

New and Upcoming Korean Group – Shinee

    shinee2

Shinee(샤이니) is a Korean group made of 14-18 year olds. They are currently number one in the music charts with their single ‘Replay’ (누난 너무 예뻐). The English title of this song doesn’t make any sense, btw. The group is managed by SM entertainment. Way too young for my taste but what do you think?

Too young, and even if they weren’t, wrong gender, haha. Really, they look like kids you beat up for lunch money…

But the song is catchy… And the girl is cute!

    • sainclaire 4:33 pm on June 19, 2008 Permalink | Reply

You’re right, Korean title translates into “You’re (feminine) so mean” or something like that. Something got lost in translation eh?

    • goodvoices 11:45 pm on June 26, 2008 Permalink | Reply

the korean title translates in “Nuna (older sister for boys) is so pretty” thats the real translation ^-^
but i think “Replay” is an alternative name, not a translation, considering both phrases are said repeatedly throughout the song =)
      yay Shinee!!!

this group is fantastic.. they are very young and yet are very dedicated to their work. As early as this time, rest assured these young guys will have a good spot in the industry of music..

enough of the trying to project a formal tone….aside from what I mentioned above, what also made me liked this group is that they dance very well. They could do the moves with style and attitude. wow.. I told myself il try one of these days to practice dancing as i’m inspired by their skills. Well, Good luck to Shinee. Hope someday I’ll have chance to see them perform personally..

Turner Classic Movies – Asian Images in Film

    asian-film-tcm

I received an email from the Assistant Manager of Digital Marketing from tbs.com/tcm.com/tnt.tv. First of all, I was really surprised that someone from a major tv network found my blog. Now you all know how popular I am. :)

I don’t think there are any reasons for me to explain what this is all about. Here is an excerpt directly from the email I received.

….this June, Turner Classic Movies presents Race & Hollywood: Asian
Images in Film. This is a groundbreaking festival of 37 films examining the
portrayal of Asians in classic movies. The festival is co-hosted by Robert
Osborne (TCM’s primetime host) and Dr. Peter X Feng, an associate professor of
film, ethnic and cultural studies at the University of Delaware and expert on
    Asian American film.

Asian Images in Film will feature interviews from some of the most notable
Asian actors, actresses and directors in the industry including George Takei,
Elaine Mae Woo, Wayne Wang and Ming Wen. Films shown range from the silent era
(1899) through modern films (2001) and include the Dragon Seed, Bridge to the
Sun, Shanghai Express, Enter the Dragon and Joy Luck Club.

You have a great site, what would it make it greatly improve is if you featured artists and entertainment news of asian artists of other countries besides Korea — even Bollywood in India or the Philippines or China. These are part of Asia too.

It is a great thing to see a blog focused on asian art and artists – we should have more blogs like this because there is so much Asian talent out there that is unrecognized.

Wow, andy’s hit the big time! lol

I think this is going to be a great way for people interested to dive into Asian entertainment. For others, helloooo nostalgia!

It is rare that I see a blog focused entirely on Asian entertainment. This is a good development, since the world is so westernized. Hollywood is not the end all and be all of entertainment, various types exist throughout the world.

Do you know if something like this will re broadcast? It definitely seems that the LA film industry is starting to catch on again to the beauty of Asian art and it’s appeal. I just hope they continue with a certain amount of class.
