Squeeze My Boobs and Prevent AIDS!

… The entry flap of one booth is labeled with the kanji character pronounced ushiro (behind) and colored pink, the other is yellow and marked oppai (breast). Outside is a line of five men, each of whom is eagerly awaiting his turn to grab (with both hands) the bare buttocks and breasts of two adult video (AV) actresses five times for 1,000 yen – with all the proceeds being used for research to prevent the spread of the HIV virus and AIDS. …

    (via tokyoreporter)

So…. 1000 yen is about $10. Would you spend it to help spread the word about AIDS?

I hope this is not the way to raise the funds. Preventing HIV can be done by making people aware of this disease. And letting them know about the preventive measures.
This is not at all a fare method to follow.

Is it for a good cause? Or is it an excuse to make money in the name of charity.

Does the cash actually go to prevent Aids? There are many other ways to help prevent aids.

I’m all in favour of raising money for good causes, and AIDS research is certainly a good cause, but I find this a bit sleazy, if you know what I mean. Having said that I marvel at the things people are prepared to do in the name of charity.

    Thailand Sand Sculptures

    thailand-sand-art

The four-month long festival, which features 80 works of art created by over 70 highly talented sculptors from countries around the world, such as the Netherlands, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Ireland, the United States and Thailand, covers an area of 12 rai (1.92 hectares or 4.74 acres).

What amazing looking sand sculptures. I wonder how long and how many people it took to make those.

I’ve seen various sand castle competitions in Thailand and they all have had great artists. It’s definitely just sand . They use water and lots of different tools to sculpt the sand. They don’t last long but the momentary beauty is awesome.

These are great. Some people are just so talented, I’d struggle to build a sand castle with my bucket and spade. I just love things like this, unusual, off the wall stuff, that are beautiful, even if they’re just for a short time. Much better than some of the so called ‘art’ rubbish you get in some galleries. Great work.

    Shady UCLA Donation

A little old, but still noteworthy:

(AP) — A Japanese gang boss and another alleged gangster who had liver transplants at UCLA Medical Center each donated $100,000 to the hospital soon after their surgeries, according to a published report.

    http://www.physorg.com/news131422548.html

I really love UCLA, but this just screams shady.  It’s obvious what the donation was…

…that’s right:  a token of gratitude.
