    Japanese Culture plus Robots

Asimo rules! :) The following video titled ‘Japan: Robot Nation‘ was a fascinating documentary. Even though I knew most of the situation the journalist, Adam Yamaguchi, talked about in the video, it was still great to watch it. The video covers the cause of declining birth rate in Japan and how the robots can possibly be used to help the Japanese in the future. Watch the video and share your thoughts!

The problem with robots is that there’s a fine line between “oh cool, he looks almost like a person” and “oh shi- it’s that creepy robot again!”. I don’t think robots should look like people because the more realistic they get, the more creepy the whole things becomes.

The creator that made a robot of himself creations looked very real. The voice needs some work, doesn’t sound real, but the look and blinking eyes are amazing. A very enjoyable documentary about Japan and it’s robots.

In a highly civilized society (like Japan) robots could indeed be a valuable addition to the society as a whole. Still the Japanese need to realize that no robot is going to breed for them and they need to rejuvenate their society somehow. Robots can only cure the symptoms, not the illness.

Keeping technology aside, i feel this is alarming. robots can never be human beings & hence should not be a replacement for Human beings. Considering the technology, it is great and the robots appear as if they are human beings.

This robot is just creepy. There’s a fine line between “oh cool it looks almost like people” and “oh god what the hell is wrong with that person?! What’s up with this blank and empty stare?!”. And Japanese unfortunately already crossed that line.

    Chinese Police Cell Phone

    china police cell phone

The police are getting more high tech these days, especially in China.

This handset will be tough as nails to cater to a police’s everyday line of work, featuring a 2.8″ display at 320 x 240 resolution, a 2-megapixel to capture incriminating evidence of a crime in progress, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity to help one while the time away on a nearby Wi-Fi hotspot when on duty, GPS navigation to know where one is headed to if he/she is a rookie in that particular area of the ‘hood and quad-band (850/900/1800/1900MHz) GSM telephony to help keep the police in question connected with the rest of the force.

      Hi,

The information about the mobile is good and also very interseting.

The service supplier is the most important factor when choosing between a prepaid Telephone Surveillance and cell phone plan contract. This is an important issue because even the best phone is only as good as its signal. Buyers beware however; some service providers’ piggyback on top of more traditional lines. If it’s a case of first come; first serve and your service provider piggybacks, you could be the first one off. This results in fall calls and unreliable air space.

    The Scariest Treehouse

    takasugi an tree house

At first I thought this was a photoshopped picture. Then I found numerous other sites describing what exactly this house was.

…….this time Takasugi-an, a tea house in Chino, Nagano Prefecture, Japan.

The tea house is built atop two chestnut trees, cut from a nearby mountain and transported to the site, and is accessible only by free-standing ladders propped against one of the trees.

Check out Dezeen for complete explanation and more pictures.
