The Scariest Treehouse

At first I thought this was a photoshopped picture. Then I found numerous other sites describing what exactly this house was.
…….this time Takasugi-an, a tea house in Chino, Nagano Prefecture, Japan.
The tea house is built atop two chestnut trees, cut from a nearby mountain and transported to the site, and is accessible only by free-standing ladders propped against one of the trees.
Check out Dezeen for complete explanation and more pictures.

I wouldn’t go up there myself, but it looks pretty cool from the safety of my office.

I don’t think I trust a free standing ladder. What if someone stole it and you’re stuck up there! It does however look like a really relaxing place.

Look’s a little unsteady to me.”
Wouldn’t want to be in it during an earthquake, thats for sure.

Oh cool. This reminds me of a stilt house but it is standing on the tree and not as a stilt house which is on the beam. I have several friends who are owners of stilt houses built near the river. They know to enjoy the nature.

Definitely not for people with a fear of heights. I think they should also have a backup ladder in case the freestanding ladder somehow falls. That looks like a really cool tea house!

I’m afraid I’d hit my head on the ceiling, or be attacked by a mother bird trying to build a nest! LOL Neat photos, though.

Very interesting treehouse. I could imagine something like this in a movie but it’s surprising to actually see a picture. What if the ladder falls down? You would be stuck! lol

It looks romantic, to my mind! I’m curious about those who are afraid of height – could they live in such a house?
