I hope this is not the way to raise the funds. Preventing HIV can be done by making people aware of this disease. And letting them know about the preventive measures.

I’m all in favour of raising money for good causes, and AIDS research is certainly a good cause, but I find this a bit sleazy, if you know what I mean. Having said that I marvel at the things people are prepared to do in the name of charity.

I think the originator of the idea is trying to mitigate the sleaziness by saying, hey it’s all for charity. It’s a good cause, so maybe we should all contribute
Well, it’s certainly a more tempting opening line than most campaigns start out with. They seem to have underpriced themselves a bit though.
