Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group
Wait a minute… I always thought that Hyundai and Kia are two separate companies. Did they merge or something? Or am I just stupid? Being a Korean and a car enthusiast, I should have known everything about Hyundai. Oh well. This is good news btw.

Hyundai-Kia Group aims to be one of the world’s top five automaker in a couple of years with an overseas production capacity of 3 million vehicles a year.

Hyundais and Kias are now holding their value very well. I remember just a few years ago they were bringing nothing at the auctions. Now they are braking the bank. Good job Korea! The cars are a lot better now than they use to be. I buy them all the time now.

Yes, Hyundai took over struggling Kia almost ten years ago (December, 1998) and has never looked back. Both brands have come a long way in terms of quality and reputation and are competitors to be reckoned with.

Both brands have a good reputation! I used to own a Kia Sephia and a Hyundai accent! I was very satisfied with them and I am happy to see a coming merge between them. Thanks for sharing.

That’s definitely a merger.
In any case, they are two great Asian car companies, so both are going to gain from that venture.

Hyundai Motor and Kia Motors posted good performances last year, helped by a weaker won and new models more popular. Likely to benefit from their smaller cars as more customers are expected to look for cheaper models in a slowing economy, analysts said

This will be good for Kia. Kia could use the warranty that Hyundai has.

Buying a new KIA Rondo can be awesome.
But it’s can also be a complex process through which you can end up overpaying by hundreds or thousands of dollars or with a vehicle that you won’t be happy with down the road.

Hyundai and Kia have nerged in 1998, after an Asian financial crisis. Now they rank as fifth world largest automaker in the world!! Quite an impressive growth if you know that 10 years ago, they weren’t in the top 10!

I think this is a good move. The merge would definitely attract bigger market thus the possibility of getting good sales.
