North Korea and South Korea’s World Cup Match
Ok. This is only the qualifying match but it will be very interesting match at least.
SEOUL, March 7 (Xinhua) — South Korea’s Football Association (KFA) said Friday that FIFA proposed to hold the World Cup qualifier match between South Korea and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) in Shanghai instead of Pyongyang.
The proposal came amid dispute between Seoul and Pyongyang over whether South Korea’s national anthem and flag should be used during the qualifier, which was originally set to be held in Pyongyang late this month.
The DPRK side suggested last month that the two sides use a neutral flag depicting the Korean Peninsula and play the popular traditional folk song “Arirang” at the match rather than use the two countries’ respective national anthems and flags.
However, the South Korean side insisted to use its national anthem and flag and asked FIFA to resolve the problem after the two sides failed to reach a compromise.
FIFA proposed to hold the match in Shanghai on March 26, the KFA said.
The KFA didn’t mention whether the DPRK side accept the proposal.

I think that is a smart resolution to a possibly heated topic: a third neutral party.
Go Seoul! I didn’t think North Korea still had a soccer team.

I enjoy watching South Korea play. I never seen North Korea but I bet it was an intense atmosphere. I mean did you guys see the Korean fans get behind them at the Worldcup in Germany or when they hosted.
