I dont get how the robots from 1996 could get into this list. They are totally retarted comparing to the new ones and I think they can not be treated as “top-100″

I’ve always had a soft spot for Battle Angel Alita. The Macross universe was a blast as well.

Don’t get me wrong, I am a big gundam fan and I love the original series but evangelion is so much better than the original gundam series and gundam F91 shouldn’t be on the list, it was bad it probably would have made a good series but cramping a 50 episode script into about 2 hours of footage did it no good, atleast they should have made it a trilogy.

Grendizer actually made it on the list, YES! This anime was my introduction to genre since it was one of the most popular non-Arabic cartoons in the Middle East.

can any1 please help. know it is really hard to get the name based on description but I’ll try my best….
the anime is based on three main character that can summon giant robots that are based on the character characteristics…. the first one can summon the robot when he only has a big open space. He uses a gun and shoots something that looks like a coin. He loads it on his gun and hoots it. and that same “coin” makes a big circle with the diagram of a star and a red robot comes up and later that same character uses a skateboard to get into the robot….
the second character needs a big space with water on it… he has rabitt ears and when he does something similar to the first character, a robot emerges
the thirs character needs an open space with wind blowing on it, like the first two characters, he shoots a bowing arrow and a robot emerges. please send your answer to mishkokot92@gmail.com

Gundam F91 is very good. It was made to be a one shot movie with running time of 2 hrs so that it does not bore the audience into a 3 hrs sequence. It was never to be base of a series or to be made an ova with other volumes. That is why to this day it is the only Gundam theatrical movie in its on identity. Also, another comment mentioned 1996 robot anime. Those anime are their because they are still being made to this day or being reengineered to the fan base in the form of mangas and the amount of years in series they lasted till they were taken off the air. All Japanese Anime series hardly ever see a third season unless they’re ratings are good and the storyline gets better ever new season.

an Answer to that, Branko, is “King Granzort”
indeed, a very old anime.
