tree man indonesia

Here is a very interesting story from Discovery Channel. This is just too unreal. I hope they find a way to get rid of those for him.

Dede lives in a remote village in Indonesia. At 32 years-old, he has an extraordinary skin condition; he has root like structures growing out of his body - branches that can grow up to 5cm a year and which protrude from his hands and feet, and welts covering his whole body. His mysterious disease is at first sight unbelievable, but on meeting the man behind this monstrous sight, it becomes only too apparent how real it is.

    1. I heard about this! They said a doctor who heard about his condition through Discovery has had some success with curing his condition. Apparently, he has Human Papilloma Virus and a genetic disorder that won’t let him fight the warts at all, so all his cellular machinery was taken over.

I think they are giving him a huge surge of Vitamin A which has shown success with severe cases of HPV, but I don’t know if that will be sufficient for him…

    2. OMG! i heard about it from my friend this morning. I never thought it was this bad. Man… poor guy.

    3. The first thing that crossed my mind is: Why is this guy outside? Shouldn’t he be in some high-tech facility right now and be tested, treated and taken care of?!

Maybe I’ve seen to many SF movies…

    4. isn’t it ironic that in his picture he is surrounded by bananas which are good souce of vitamin A…and if those are some of the food he always eats…how come he still got HPV ?….and now they’re giving him as you say a huge surge of vitamin A…..and still it might not be sufficient for him.to cure his skin disease…i wonder what really happened to him?

    5. heh. Nice. Keep up the good blogging.

    6. That is just so unfortunate. I feel sorry for this dude.

    7. i do hope a cure will be found for that will take them away forever. he must be stressed thinking about his condition. i must commend his family and the people in his village for standing behind. that’s love.

    8. i hope they find a cure for him. he must be so depressed with his condition - but he appears to be a fighter. i must commend his family especially his children and brother in law and thepeople in his village that supports. that’s love

    9. Does anyone know if this man is responding to treatment? That is so amazing.

    10. I saw this last night and during the ending credits the narrator said the As of yet Dede has decided not to begin the treatment. I blame those cronies of his at the circus. That svengali showman and “boy” his toadying assistant are a millions times more vulgar and nasty than Dede’s skin…and how about that kiddie fashion show with vamping and strutting. What was that all about??!!

    12. I saw this last night on the discovery channel. I did not believe this rare medical condition to be true. Now, as for the other people that are in Dede’s circus troop, I believe they are people that have rare diseases, but a human growing tree branches from his hands and feet? Thats unreal. At the end of the story, they said that he was not goign to get treatment, but during the segment, he was constantly saying he wants to get medical help. So, Im confused. I still dont think this mans condition is real. I have to see it with my own eyes. Tv can work wonders. But if it is indeed real, I feel so sorry for him.

    13. This story has me baffled. I have heard that they tested his samples and found out that he does in fact have one of the 33 strands of HPV. Something sounds suspect when they said that as of yet he has NOT decided to start treatment. That makes NO sense. Nobody would want to live with such a horrible condition and the life of depression that it brings. So Ive been reading different links and have yet to find an update as to whatever happend to him. I think this man needs alot of prayer. It makes you count your lucky stars when you see people who have lives that seem to be unbarable. I ask to anyone who has sympathy for this human being that they pray for Dede. Pray that he gets cured and thank God that he has kept YOU from any serious unknown disease to we’re you could have been known as a FREAK.

    14. He is getting treatment: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2008/04/11/wtreeman111.xml

    15. omg!!!!!!!!
i feel very sorry for this guy

    16. OMG This is really interesting article, I would like to read more about this guy, and how they gonna treat or dealing with him. Great article buddy, keep up the good work !!
