You are very right, I bet if you compared the number of poor chinese to poor koreans the percentages will be just as staggering. China is an enormous country geographically and in population to put in perspective China is comprised of 6.5% of the worlds land so is the US whereas South Korea only represents 0.07% (1.4% if you include both South and North Korea). China has 1,323,771,000 people, the US has 304,065,000 people and South Korea has 48,224,000 people. A better measure of the success of the South Korean economy would be to look at its gross domestic product (GDP) the US’s GDP is 45,845 , CHina’s GDP is 2,461, and South Korea’s is 19,751.

The fact that such a relatively small counrty is making such a huge internatinal impact should be applauded not ridiculed.

It’s important to compare the number of people in China and Korea. It’s easier to get rich in a market of 1.3 billion people then in market of 50 million people.

it’s true…most of them are successful businessmen and they have this great attitude about their work…they have patience,,,and they don’t easily give up when they are down..they try to help each other in times of need..they don’t have this “crab mentality attitude”…we can find them almost in any country because of these reasons..,we live in the philippines but my friend would say as if we live in china bec. the richest and most influential people in our country are chinese or we call them tsinoys..half chinese and half filipino..but it doesnt really matter to us anymore as long as they could help bring pride to our country and help boost our economy which is still struggling because of corruption in our gov’t and this so called crab mentality among filipinos….
