maybe she is going for the american look and I don’t see anything wrong with that but I think it happened too fast. One day she was white and now she’s dark.
There’s something beautiful about the Asian culture…my roommate in college was Filipino. Three decades later…still my best friend on the earth. I’ve attended every Filipino Christmas holiday celebration and it would be a horrible shame to lose the culture of that.
My best friend in the world adopted two Korean children. She is adamant about raising them “Korean”. They attend Korean school, speak Korean…learning your culture and staying true to your culture is important.
My parents are dead…and I know little about my Irish heritage. That is a darn shame. So, I’m not a fan of “Americanizing” things
I completely understand what you are saying. But on the other hand, Asians have great fascination about Americans too. For example, musicians will incorporate English words into their song for no reason other than try to be ‘cool’. For pop culture, anything related to American is considered ‘cool’. It’s kind of sad when I think about it.
