I just found a search engine marketing site maintained by Darin Carter.

There are lots of blogs out there claiming to teach you how to make money online. I’m beginning to get more involved in this niche and I’m trying to figure out who’s blogs are worth reading and which ones are just copying other blog’s posts.

According to the site, Darin works in the marketing department which controls about 4 million dollar budget. He also used to own a search engine company called iqseek.com. He created the site to help others market their site.

One of his most popular articles are about PPC Management. The article is divided into 4 separate parts. The article is little bit hard to understand for me since because I have no experience with PPC. The sites that I own do not advertise with PPC, like Google adwords. But it’s worth the read none the less.

One of the articles about search engine marketing mentioned that you should pay more attention to writing good ‘content’ then focusing on meta tags, title and backlinks. This does makes sense in some degrees. There are many search engines out there and all of them use different algorithms for the search. Which means that if one day they all decide that title tags, meta tags, and backlinks are useless, then all the pages that were optimized using those tactics will basically be gone. But instead of focusing on those, if you just concentrate on writing well written content, people will be able to find your articles no matter what.

Two of the categories I enjoy reading are of course the ‘blog‘ category and the ‘seo‘ category.

The only complaint that I have is that the yellow/orange/red background and text colors are not that pleasing to my eyes. There is a reason why so many websites out there use blue/green hue to create their sites. I am not saying that my website is any better. I need to switch the link color text so it’s little bit easier to read and so many other things….

So why am I writing this post? Well, first I enjoy reading his articles and second, for the love of Nintendo wii. He is currently doing a ‘promotion’ where if you link to his site, you can win a Nintendo Wii. Many of the websites are doing this right now to gain some backlinks. I wish I can do this too. I just need to gain some more readers plus increase my pagerank.
