Install Dofollow plugin for your blog
May 17th, 2007 | By andy | Category: ZR5 Site NewsSo what exactly is nofollow? Nofollow has been created to fight this great long war against SPAM. When you use the attribute (rel=”nofollow”) on hyperlinks, you are not giving any pagerank value to the linked website. It’s not necessarily a bad thing since you do get a link and you do get the traffic. But unfortunately, Google pagerank is very important if you are trying to make money with your blog. There are plenty of people selling links on their website just using pagerank as a sales pitch. And you know what? It works really well.
Anyways, many of the websites and blogs come with nofollow automatically inserted. Wordpress, a great blog program, which powers this website, comes with nofollow. I’ve just installed a plugin called ‘DoFollow‘ from semilogic. I am hoping that installing this will encourage more people to leave comments on this blog. The more comments you leave, the more backlinks you will receive.
I got this idea from http://courtneytuttle.com and http://www.geekyspeaky.com.

So, this plugin encourages people to comment because it allows them to leave direct links? Or does it help the blog each time someone comments?
Sorry I am confused.

You are right on the money.
Its ironic that many bloggers talk about this but then they actually use no follow.
