Stephen Colbert making jokes of Rain(Korean singer)
To be honest, the video is stupid and what he talks about is stupid. Well, I guess the whole comedy bit is stupid. But it’s somewhat funny. It’s not everyday that a Korean singer gets made fun of by an American journalist, if you can call Colbert a journalist. When you are watching the music video towards the end, listen very carefully. He actually sings in Korean and his pronunciation isn’t that bad.

this thing is stupid. I don’t appericate you people out there, making fun of Rain. You need to understand that Rain worked his hardest to earn himself at this stage right now. Ya should jump off a cliff and die. You should be ashame of yourself. Shit! Just die. No body like this video.

oh yeah…pls don’t remind us. we all know how u have the freedom to do things in your collective countries. u have the freedom to gun down ppl in malls; post disrespectful things abt other ppl’s religions, prophets; the freedom to go into other ppl’s countries because of the greed of one man and kill millions of ppl in the name of….oh wait…freedom!! blessed are we to live in such a free world. yeah so let’s all grow up.
incidentally isn’t expressing displeasure freedom too? or is that freedom only allowed if u live in your free country? the rest of us have to I QUOTE “keep it to ourselves??” really?

HA HA! You kids! You ACTUALLY think that Colbert is a serious journalist? NO! He’s a COMEDIAN. He is an ACTOR. And in case you can’t see the flip side to this, now with Colbert name dropping Rain on his show, which is HUGE might I add, he is PROMOTING him to an audience that may have never heard of him. Colbert is expanding Rain’s fan base, so to speak.
The whole mock music video is a satire of how even after the Korean War (part of the Cold War, in case you kids don’t know your history…) American’s still know so little about Korea and he’s using the stereotypes to prove that, which is why at the end he says “what else is Korean?”.
And obviously Rain’s feeling weren’t hurt and he was IN ON THE JOKE when he sent in his video response and appeared for that DDR dance off.
It’s a little sad that I had to actually explain that…. but some humour only works for some people, just don’t get outrageously offended on someone’s behalf, okay guys?

It’s kinda hard being an actor in Asia. Sometimes press is very offensive and always following. The video is an example.
