Korean Movie: The Restless (2006) - 중천 (ä¸å¤©) (Joong-cheon)
May 16th, 2007 | By andy | Category: MovieI’ve first wrote about the movie way back in December. Why did it take such a long time to start circulating over the net? Maybe Koreans are starting to be honest…. Nah, it must be something else. :p
I finally had the chance to watch the movie last night and of course I have many complaints about the movie. It’s not that I didn’t enjoyed watching the movie. How can I not like watching Kim Tae Hee(김태í¬)? She is so cute. But to be honest, she doesn’t belong in a fighting movie. She is no Zhang Ziyi.
All through out the movie, I kept comparing this movie to recent Chinese movies such as Hero, House of Flying Daggers, and Crouching Tiger and Hidden Dragon. I am not saying this movie actually compares to those. I loved all of three of them. Just like those movies, The Restless (2006) - 중천 (ä¸å¤©) (Joong-cheon) has this ‘grand’ feeling. First it has many scenes with great big backgrounds and vivid colors which made me feel like human beings are very insignificant beings living in this Earth. If you watched those 3 Chinese movies that I mentioned, you should know what I’m talking about.
Oh and the fighting style…it is just like in the Chinese movies. People flying everywhere(in hidden ropes of course) sword fighting in mid air, and such. If you just changed the language of this movie to Chinese, some people might think that this is a Chinese movie.
One good thing about this movie is the storyline. As far as I understood it, Joong-cheon is a place where dead souls go and rest before they go to heaven. However the main character, played by Jeong Woo-seong (ì •ìš°ì„±), somehow ends up there even though he is not dead. In that world, he meets his old lover who cannot remember him. And together they have to fight against ‘evil’ who used to be the main character’s friends in real life.
One final note… The ending sucks. If it had a better ending, I might have liked this movie…
I’ve downloaded the movie from naynay123’s clubbox.

gwapo ko?
when i watched the movie daisy a year ago, i had the interest watching korean movies especially jeong woo seong’s…i started to like him a lot.
but watching this movie like those of what i’ve watched (daisy, a moment to remember, sad movie) always make me so disappointed at the end. but it doesnt mean that the acting was worst than ever…no it’s not that…it’s just that, can’t they make a film starring jeong woo seong with a pretty nice ending???
another thing is that, this movie is quite confusing…thanks to jeong woo seong, even if it seemed too boring for me, i kept watching for his sake
