I was just about to write a short review of http://www.asiansexgazette.com/index.htm then all of a sudden I remembered a very compelling sex trafficking story I read couple of month ago. So I went googling for the story. First I wasn’t sure exactly what to search for then I tried ‘korean massage parlor in la sex traffic‘. Thanks Google! The first link that came up was the correct site.

This is one of the very few articles that really touched me. I’m sure for some of you this sounds like just another sex slave story but for me, this was something different. I do remember writing about this story but I can’t find it…maybe I didn’t write it…
As the basis for this story is Korea and Los Angeles area, should I have known about it? Not really. This kind of story rarely comes up on the news. And when it does, no one really cares. Even when I hear it on the news, I tend to forget it in couple of days. But everyone knows that girls get kidnapped everyday and get sold to sex traffickers. As you will soon find out reading this article, there are so many more young Asian girls getting trafficked into the US as sex workers.
The article follows a young Korean woman who gets tricked into being a sex slave because of the false promise of money to be made here in the US. There are others factors involved such as her being in a huge debt. Please read the story and share comments.
A disturbing story. In Europe sex trafficking is more prevalent within the Balkans, for fairly obvious reasons. I live in Thailand which gets bad publicity for trafficking. I’m not sure if it is justified or not. My suspicion is that most of the sex slaves coming through here are from Myanmar, Laos and perhaps Cambodia. A lot of the publciity is NGO generated which is always suspicious but stories like the one u reproduced are worrying.

I have worked as a white girl in asian massage parlors for many years. As the only (token?) white girl, I witness the racist behavior inverted. Thanksfully many asian girls get to know me and change their thoughts. The reason I work there is my best friend forever is an asian massage worker turned massage parlor owner.
I can tell you basically zero of the asian massage girls I have met were “trafficked”. My friend works hard to avoid syndicate money, which I am sureis the reason, but it also suggests that organized crime is just that, andit has nothing to do with race.

when i got to this page, i immediately tried to print each part and read it at home.. the story was really disturbing. it’s old school but i never expected it to be this big or still this rampant…, especially in korea..
I have been a massage therapist/parlor girl in the states for years. In korean massage parlors I used to see ex-military guys all the time. A few years ago when they stopped coming in. Not sure why. Maybe they are all in iraq now? The older korean war guys are still gentlemen, but too old to pay for services.
Maybe we will see an arabian fetish now.
Very disturbing story. I live in Europe, years ago the staff at massage parlours here were almost all from Thailand, Myanmar … Last couple of years they have been replaced for an even cheaper and easier to manipulate workforce, now they are full with women from Eastern Europe, Russia. Sad places, I can’t understand men that go there.
I don’t understand some people. There are many girls that would love to do this. Why do they have to sex traffic? They should leave those girl alone. They have the right to do what they like.
i thought this was completely sad but interesting..and i think all men should read this because they’re going to these places not knowing that the girl they’re having sex with ..was trafficked and is basically a slave to your every need!..its a hard life for these girls and my heart goes out to every single one.

every massage parlor should have a womans helpline and every brothel should have a sex worker helpline poster with the number and different languges saying on it sex worker helpline. not like Rhed which have their number in a little corner of the poster for safe sex.

The majority of girls in the sex trade in Korea are not coerced and simply do it because it is the easiest way for them to make money. I don’t have sympathy for a lot of them. Unlike in the West where many girls do it because of drug addiction, in Korea they do it because they don’t want to just get by in life, because of the money. Koreans are so ridiculously materialistic and superficial. Nobody forced them to buy their Burberry, Chanel, Vuitton crap…. There is no reason why over 100,000 (and rumored to be as many as 1 million) girls should have to work directly or indirectly in the sex trade. Korea is not a poor country like Thailand where guys have little choice else but to sell their bodies. Korea is the 8th richest country in the world.
I know this may sound callous, but any girl stupid enough to get herself into such huge debt deserves the fate that is handed to them. Most of the girls that work in the room salons here do it voluntarily as a side job while they study english and make damn good money from it. Koreans are incredibly shallow and materialistic people who will stop at nothing in the pursuit of money. Koreans are full of bs because they always preach how ‘wealth is nothing without health’ yet they drunk and smoke themselves to death or women sell their bodies or surgically enhance themselves to look prettier. They have absolutely no respect for themselves or other Koreans for that matter. Koreans are probably the most competitive people in the word and cannot stand their neighbor getting one up on them. There is another expression in Korea that goes ‘if your cousin buys a piece of land, you stay up all night with a stomach ache.’ In Korea, people will cut corners or scam and bribe or subvert in anyway possible to get ahead. Getting ripped off in Korea is an accepted part of life. People in Korea don’t get too worked up if they get ripped off because it so common and also because of the fact that they themselves have jacked someone else at some point in their life.
This is all coming from a Korean.
Koreans are hard-working, tenacious people but they are a some of the most short-minded people in the world. They spend, drink and work like there is no tomorrow and live by the mantra ‘pali, pali’. Which means ‘fast, fast’. The Western concept of ‘taking it easy’ is absolutely unfathomable to a Korean.

But you forgot one thing about Koreans: their stupidity and ignorance.
Obviously Koreans don’t know that bashing their fellow Koreans and posting hateful comments like this is same as spitting on their own face. Or does this only apply to you? I wonder….
