Why isn’t Korea gunning for the world’s tallest is anyone’s guess. I realize that having the ‘world’s tallest tower’ only lasts couple of years until some other country plans to build a taller one.
The city of Seoul has approved a plan for a 620-m tower with some 140 to 155 stories to be built in the Yongsan area. When it’s finished the building will be the third-highest in the world, following the Burj Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (700-meters high when it’s done in 2008) and the Tower of Russia (649-meters high when it’s done in 2010).
