Wirefly for all your cell phone needs

wirefly

I was really glad to find Wirefly was on payperpost. I bought my cell phone from them last year so it is going to be a breeze to write about my experience with them.

First, I did not go through them by choice. Sprint(my cell phone carrier) was offering a special ‘friends and family’ deal through Inphonic which means that I had to make a purchase via wirefly.com I didn’t have to purchase a new phone for this plan however, (conveniently), I lost my phone a week before. Wirefly seems to be a small company. Everytime I called it was the same person, and when it was a different person, the customer service reps seem to know each other by name. I am guessing most of the ecommerce companies are small. I ordered the phone via the site and everything went perfectly. The website is very informative and easy to use and navigate. Once I placed my order, I received my package with in couple of days.

Everything was fine until I read my invoice. They had put me into the wrong plan! That was fine with me since I thought I can just call them up and change the plan. That’s when the trouble started…. I called Wirefly and they informed me that all I had to do was contact Sprint and everything will be okay. So I contacted Sprint. For some reason, they were not able to help me. Sprint is telling me that since I went through a third party(wirefly) to sign up for a plan, I would need to contact them to change my cell phone plan. If you think about it, that is the most ridiculous part of this whole thing. As I have mentioned before, I only went through them because Sprint themselves told me that I can only get the special plan if I go through wirefly. They contracted wirefly to handle this part of signing up and now Sprint is basically telling me that I would have to contact them for support too? After numerous change in customer service reps and departments, I gave up and called wirefly again.

After explaining my situation to wirefly, they contacted Sprint for me. However they still were not able to change the plan. I don’t remember exactly why. Anyhow, they offered to give me a full refund and I accepted. But for some strange reason, I really wanted to try going to Sprint’s website. When I did, the correct plan showed up! I contacted Sprint to verify my plan and that was that. I finally had the phone and the calling plan I wanted.

Did anyone read all that? :) Don’t think Wirefly was to blame for the whole situation. Any company can make a mistake. It’s how they handled the mistake and I think they did an okay job at that.

Try them for yourselves. They do offer some of the best phone and discounts. I saved like $180 off retail price on my phone. They also offer a resources page where they can offer you the best cell phone plan to meet your needs.

If anyone has experience with wirefly.com please share!
