Google is making cell phones?

Google this, Google that. Is there anything that Google isn’t involved in? Now they seem to be making a cell phone. I have read somewhere that this is a free service with ads. hmm.. I wouldn’t mind listening to couple of ads if it means that my international calls will be free. Am I wishing too much?
